Karim Daou autoportrait

Born in 1978 in Switzerland and currently living in Geneva, Karim Daou spent most of his life between Switzerland and Lebanon where he is originally from.

An unusual artist, Karim follows a rare itinerary to photography; self-taught with a multi-cultural background he brings a new approach to his art when it comes to chasing subjects or events from all over the world.

His curiosity and passion have naturally led him to express his creativity through different artistic forms. His first public experience began as a digital designer, developing his graphic talents towards a large audience.
Alongside an early interest in painting, he followed up on photography which became a breeding ground for his interests in technology and arts.

Being an autodidact, Karim’s artistic expression is mostly expressed through his personality and sensitivity within his work. He constantly seeks new ways to combine technique and style into his art. He particularly views his various travels around the world as a privilege that has helped him appreciate and compose with the various elements of the nature surrounding us.

Karim remains fascinated by the impact a theme or a color conveys to the spectator. This empathy regarding the environment around him is distinctive in his work as he strives to exert the sensibility through the details or the movement of the moment.

Karim Daou pays particular attention to movement, water or singular themes especially in cities such as Torino or Shanghai where sights are particularly impressive through his lens.
